Allergy Info Video

what is a lash allergy and what should i do if i experience it?

- The reaction and inflammation that you are experiencing is from an ingredient in the lash adhesive called “cyanoacrylate”.

- All lash adhesives have some amount of cyanoacrylate so getting lashes at another place or using another adhesive will not change your chances of reaction.

- The fumes from the adhesive will fall on the skin around the eyes during the service. Once rinsed, the irritant is no longer present. When the inflammation appears (24 hours after service) there is no irritant present, the reaction is just delayed. So, no need to remove lash extensions.

- A reaction to lash extension adhesive will look like: Puffy eyelids, Itchy and red skin around the eye area, the whites of the eye are red.

- A reaction can occur at any point during your lash journey but we find it is most likely to appear after the third exposure.

- If you do experience a reaction to your lash extensions this is what we recommend:

  • Call an eye doctor.

  • Tell the doctor “I think I am experiencing contact dermatitis from my eyelash extensions”

  • Ask for a prescription of a topical steroid that is safe for the eye area.

- Let us know about the reaction that you are experiencing so we can talk about your lash options going forward.
